When I was 16, I went on a date with a girl who i thought was just beautiful.
I didn't see her or talk to her again after that date (she didn't answer my calls, i recall)...until just over 2 weeks ago when i randomly bumped into her.
I found her on facebook and requested a friendship.
She accepted. (boom!)
I waited for some sort of outreach.
She posted a comment on a post. (Jackpot!)
So i went for the kill.
I messaged her and asked for her number so we could go out.
My children will be confused by this interaction and my parents cannot understand it, but sadly, it is the typical way of getting a girl's number nowadays (aka, i'm a wuss).
Then a few days went by. Then a week. Then 2 weeks.
SILENCE! NO RESPONSE! (i even saw that she had facebook activity, so i know that she saw the little flag that said that she had a message from me)
Then...i bumped into her a couple days ago at a party.
I pause to ask, 'What would you say?' I mean you know she got the message and you know that she purposely didn't respond
Well let me tell you what happened. I stopped her. She looked VERY awkwardly surprised. She started making excuses as to why she didn't respond to my message right away. I said, "Hey. You didn't respond with your number. But listen, this is dating and that is what happens sometimes. So just know i'm not offended and that we don't have to go out if you don't want to."
I played the victim card hoping to get a positive response.
She just chuckled.
...and then walked away.
Mr. Churchill, with all due respect...sometimes you should.
